Cherry Café (Egyptian Ambassador Dinner) - November 11, 2010

I have been to Egypt, drawn by the great Nile, the mighty pharaohs, the mysterious pyramids and the irresistible queen – Nefertiti rather than Cleopatra, actually. I saw the countless mummies lined up like sausages at the Egyptian Museum; I had my name written in hieroglyphs, so fascinating that I had no idea what they said; I learned that Hatshepust was easiest to remember as “Hot Chicken Soup”; I managed to find the right bus that went to Mount Sinai – not the hospital – but refused to climb it at four o’clock in the morning to watch the sunrise; yes, I have been a tourist. And, I still travel.
